Access Center to provide free dinner, breakfast, hygiene items

PALM SPRINGS — To help comfort unhoused residents when the temperature turns colder during the winter months, the city is partnering with Martha’s Village and Kitchen to provide temporary overnight shelter at the Palm Springs Access Center, 225 El Cielo Road across from the Airport.

The City Council recently approved moving forward with the four-month temporary service.

A total of 20 beds will be available nightly for those in need. Hours of operation will be 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. seven days a week. Free dinner, breakfast and hygiene items will also be on hand.

Beds will be available on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 4:30 p.m. daily. The temporary service is scheduled to conclude March 15, 2024.

In summer, in an effort to assist unhoused residents during the sweltering heat of the hot summer months when temperatures rise, Martha’s Village and Kitchen has partnered with the County of Riverside to provide overnight shelter at the Palm Springs Access Center.
