5 Airplanes to Cruise City Streets of Palm Springs

PALM SPRINGS — If you want to witness airplanes cruising city streets rather than the friendly skies you will have an opportunity. But you will need to rise before dawn.

The 2023 National Agricultural Aviation Association Expo will be held at the Palm Springs Convention Center, Dec. 4 – 7 – and starting at 4 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3, rolling street closures will get underway to move five aircraft from Palm Springs International Airport, via city streets, to the Convention Center, 277 N. Avenida Caballeros.

They aircraft will be moved back to the Airport via city streets at 4 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7. It’s estimated the rolling street closures will take about two hours.

The airplanes will be towed from the Airport at Alejo Road, traveling west to Avenida Caballeros; they will turn left (south) on Avenida Caballeros to Amado. The planes will take a right (heading west) to Amado and then a left (south) on Calle Alvarado where they will remain until they return to the Airport on Thursday, Dec. 7.

The National Agricultural Aviation Association (NAAA) hosts the world’s largest agricultural aviation Ag Aviation Expo and trade show every December. The annual NAAA Ag Aviation Expo features seminars and forums that address current events and issues, networking opportunities, and the latest and greatest parts and services available to the industry.

The 2023 Ag Aviation Expo will feature the world’s largest trade show for agricultural aviation, great opportunities for networking, and a dynamic lineup of speakers and events.

The event will include a kickoff breakfast on Monday morning featuring Burt Rutan, an aerospace entrepreneur. There will also be a NAAA General Session on Tuesday morning, a Flying in the Wire and Obstruction Environment Course on Thursday, December 7, and 20+ hours of Education & Training Sessions.
