Rotary Club of Cathedral City and Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert Host Black Tie Bingo Fundraiser

CATHEDRAL CITY – If you like playing Bingo, you’re going to love playing Black Tie Bingo — with proceeds going toward a pair of good causes.

The Rotary Club of Cathedral City is partnering with the Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert to host an evening of Black Tie Bingo on Saturday, April 30, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Mountain View Grill at the Desert Princess Country Club Restaurant, 28-555 Landau Blvd., Cathedral City.

“We are pleased to announce that Tommy Kocan, creator of the “Dinner With Patsi” character, who has a
reputation for vigorous fundraising for local nonprofits, will call out bingo numbers at the event. Bingo winners will walk away with gift cards for local restaurants, resorts and favorite coffee shops,” said Melita Martin Radtke, chair of the event and president elect of the Rotary Club of Cathedral City.”

The entire community is welcome to play Black Tie Bingo with Rotarians and supporters of the Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert. Dinner, entertainment and access to a silent auction are included in the ticket price.

Proceeds from the evening will fund scholarships for Cathedral City High School graduating seniors this spring and the reimagined Children’s Museum updated programs and expansion,” explained Dawn Elliott-Figueroa, president of the Rotary Club of Cathedral City.

Cindy Burreson, CEO of the Children’s Discovery Museum, and a member of the Rancho Mirage Rotary Club, added, “We invite the public to view the entire plan for the updated Children’s Discovery Museum at www.cdmod.org. We are pleased with the support the community has shown towards getting the museum open and running with new programs for our valley’s children. The Rotary club is supporting our reIMAGINATION efforts and in doing so, our future community leaders.”

Musical entertainment will be provided by a woodwind ensemble from Cathedral City High School led by Matthew Howe, CCHS Director of Bands.

Tickets for the Dinner, No Host Bar and Silent Auction event should be purchased by April 18 to assure a seat. Some tickets will be available at the door for individuals who have made a reservation with Laura Ahmed.
