City to Temporarily Close City-Owned Parking Lot for Safety Improvements

PALM SPRINGS — Patrons to downtown businesses might be inconvenienced for a while but it’s all in the interest of safety. The city’s Public Works Department will temporarily close the city-owned parking lot located at W. Alejo Road and Belardo Road to complete important infrastructure improvements aimed at enhancing safety and usability.

The parking lot will be unavailable from January 26 through February 1 while construction is underway. The project will address long-standing pavement deficiencies and improve overall conditions for users of the facility.

This parking lot serves a nearby church and several surrounding businesses. The city recognizes the high level of community use and appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during this short-term closure.

“No Parking” signage will be posted onsite prior to the start of construction. The city is also coordinating outreach efforts to inform impacted businesses, community organizations, and other regular users of the lot.

Public Works encourages users to plan ahead and seek alternative parking options during the construction period.
