Calls for Councilmember Yadira Perez to Resign Begin to Intensify

Resign Now Yadira Perez
COACHELLA — A growing number of people calling themselves “Citizens of Coachella,” plan to march on City Hall on Wednesday evening at the City Council meeting where they will call on Yadira Perez to resign.
“Yadira ran as a change agent, as an agent for change,” one woman told Uken Report who asked for anonymity for fear of retaliation. “She claimed people in Coachella were all corrupt, but it turned out she’s the only one (allegedly) corrupt. As someone that wanted to root out corruption she in herself is corrupt. “t’s the pot calling the kettle black. She must go. She must resign.”
The U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Central District of California reports that Federal prosecutors had been working with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to remove 126 undocumented immigrants accused of illegally re-entering the United States. The recently filed illegal re-entry cases resulted in nearly three dozen arrests over the past week.
Yet, Yadira Perez allegedly recorded her husband being detained by FBI agents and fed it to gullible local media to create chaos in the community that ICE was targeting the innocent.
“Little did she know that the truth would prevail, and she would be caught in a web of lies.” Maria Ruiz said.

Coachella Mayor Steven Hernandez
Mayor Steven Hernandez told Uken Report he had not heard of any planned protest but is aware of aa growing discontent with Perez in the community.
“Many immigrants are law-abiding,” Hernandez said. “She and her husband have crossed a red line as it relates to immigrants.”
Whether Perez shows up for the meeting remains to be seen. She did not attend the last meeting.
Perez, a former sworn deputy with the Riverside County Sheriff’s office, resigned her position shortly after her husband (a previously deported Mexican undocumented immigrant with a lengthy rap sheet of several felony convictions, including possession of a controlled substance (meth) for sale, inflicting corporal injury to a spouse, DUI, and assault with a deadly weapon, according to ICE), was taken into custody
Isidro Jimenez-Ibanez is also now looking at prosecution for felony re-entry, as federal authorities are now charging him with violation of 8 USC 1326, illegal alien found in the US after deportation, which was the reason for his FBI/ICE arrest in the Coachella parking lot. The FBI had a criminal warrant signed by a federal magistrate when they arrested him. It is a felony to re-enter the US illegally after deportation, punishable by up to 2 years in prison on the first offense. A judge has since released him on bond.
Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco said the case has been turned over to the DA’s office public corruption team and the federal government. He said he could not comment on personnel matters or the status of the investigation.
