College of the Desert Reports Strong Enrollment Growth for Spring 2025 – Fast Track Courses Still Available
PALM DESERT – College of the Desert has reached 4,098 full-time equivalent students (FTES) for Spring 2025, marking significant growth in student attendance, COD announced. Overall enrollments are up 11.5% compared to the same time last year.
The college reports 35,510 total course enrollments, with 14,152 students registered for classes this spring. The enrollment has led to fill rates across the institution’s 1,584 course sections.

“This growth in both headcount and course enrollment demonstrates our students’ dedication to their educational journey,” said Val Martinez Garcia, Acting Superintendent/President. “We’re seeing more students not only enrolling but taking fuller course loads, which puts them on a stronger path toward graduation and transfer.”
The growth of enrollment spans across all college locations and online courses, showcasing the institution’s successful efforts to provide accessible education throughout the Coachella Valley.
It’s Not Too Late to Enroll – Fast Track Courses Start Soon
Students still have an opportunity to join the Roadrunner family this semester with flexible fast-track course options:
- 12-week courses begin February 24, 2025
- 8-week courses start March 24, 2025
These accelerated courses allow students to complete their studies in a shorter timeframe while still receiving high-quality instruction and support. Fast Track courses cover a wide range of subjects and are designed for students looking to stay on track toward their academic and career goals.
