Convicted Felon in Possession of Firearm and Ammunition
NDIO — A 25-year-old resident of Indio and a documented criminal street gang member, was placed under arrest for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Ramiro Araujo was ultimately transported to the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
On Friday, April 5, 2024, at 3:10 p.m., members of the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force (GTF) served a weapons-related search warrant in the 46500 block of Monroe Street, Indio. During the service of the search warrant, GTF members located a 9mm handgun, two large-capacity magazines, a micro conversion kit, also known as a pistol brace, and ammunition inside the residence, according to Sgt. Cameron James.
