There are more than 9 million cases of COVID-19 nationwide

COVID-19 is unquestionably one of the most divisive issues among Americans until you include the Presidential Election which is like throwing gasoline on an already-raging fire.

Regarding COVID-19, Donald Trump has said the following:

  • “we’re rounding the turn,,,” (source: FOX News)
  • “it’s going to disappear,,,” (source: FOX News)
  • “One day,,, it’s like a miracle,,, it will disappear” (source: FOX News)
  • ”If you take the blue states out, we’re at a level that I don’t think anybody in the world would be at,,,”.  (source: FOX News)
  • “Don’t let it dominate your life,,,” (source: FOX News)

As of this weekend there are more than 9 million cases of COVID-19 nationwide with roughly 230,000 deaths, and just this past Friday there were nearly 100,000 new cases in a single day. This marks the highest number of single day COVID-19 infections in the world. (source: CNN)

As we’re now weeks into a third wave of nationwide infections, Donald Trump is on the final leg of campaign rallies in which his followers are thousands of voters packed together and largely unmasked. At a time when masking and social distancing could not possibly be more crucial, Trump places his most loyal followers at deadly risk. Is it for their vote? Surely these are all people who are going to voting for or have voted for him already, so why put them or anyone at risk?

When this election’s over, no matter the outcome, there will be a merciless COVID-19 wave across the country that will potentially take the death toll to over 400,000.  A loss of life of Americans of all walks of life regardless of who they voted for. (source: Reuters)

This is America so speak your mind, proudly wave the flag, express your convictions and opinions, but for God’s sake, this deadly pandemic must be stopped and it take far more than a vaccine which may not be available to the masses until the Spring of 2021. I urge anyone and everyone to simply mask when in public, practice social distancing and frequently wash your hands or use a hand sanitizer. Stay safe.

Lastly, I leave this final thought for residents of the Coachella Valley, roughly 230,000 deaths would be comparable to the loss of life of every man, woman and child for the combined cities of Cathedral City (55,007), Palm Springs (48,518), Desert Hot Springs (28,878), Rancho Mirage (18,528), Palm Desert (53,275), Thousand Palms (7,814), Bermuda Dunes (6,817), Indian Wells (5,470) and Mecca (7,174).
