CVWD Board Will Appoint Someone from Applicant Pool to Fill Board Vacancy

COACHELLA —Applications are now being taken for the District 4 seat on the Board of Directors of the Coachella Valley Water District due to the retirement of Peter Nelson.

Pursuant to Government Code Section 1780, the Board of Directors may, within 60 days of April 14, 2026, appoint a successor for the office of Director.

A person appointed to the office of Director must be a resident of Division 4 and registered to vote. The boundaries for Division 4 are described in the map that can be accessed by clicking here: cvwd.org/DocumentCenter/View/57/District-Boundary-Map. Please contact the CVWD representative mentioned below if there are any questions regarding the specific boundaries of Division 4.

Anyone interested in being appointed is requested to submit a letter of interest and resume setting forth a brief summary of the person’s interest, qualifications, and background, and information regarding residence in order to verify that the candidate resides in Division 4. Letters of interest and resumes must be delivered or mailed to CVWD at the following address so that they are received no later than 4:00 p.m. on May 6, 2026. CVWD’s representative will contact the applicants to confirm receipt of interest and may follow up regarding the time, date, and location of the open and public Board meeting(s) during which interviews will be conducted and during which the Board will potentially make a decision regarding an appointment.
