‘Friday Nights on Pierson’ begins May 12

DHS Unveils 'Friday Nights on Pierson'DESERT HOT SPRINGS — Leaders in this community are encouraging the public to visit the Downtown Arts and Culture District every Friday from May 12 to June 9 for “Friday Nights on Pierson.”

This experience, guaranteed to be lively, brings a host of the Coachella Valley’s favorite food trucks to the intersection of Palm Drive and Pierson Boulevard or a fun, family-friendly celebration of the area’s more than two dozen new and established stores and galleries.

All the action happens at 11940 Palm Drive from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The dinnertime lineup includes eight local food trucks with flavors ranging from authentic Mexican to gourmet handcrafted fries, including Barely Cooks, Krazy Daisy, Comfort Inn, Mariscos El Berrinche, Birreria Don Emma, Uncle D’s Smokehouse, Papa Headz, and TKB (The Kids Business).

Attendees are encouraged to bring your friends to check out pop-up produce stand Farmer in the Dale, and shop for locally grown fruits and veggies, plus, take in Desert Hot Springs’ Downtown Arts and Culture District’s newest multistory mural by globally recognized artist TRAV.

“This is the first time for this event,” Sean Smith, economic development director told Uken Report. “Our goal is to activate our downtown and eventually create a consistent calendar of events and activities for this area. Generating some energy will benefit businesses and assist in attracting more as we work towards establishing a fun and unique district for residents and visitors.”
