Many women were instrumental in the growth of mid-century Palm Springs including hoteliers, restaurateurs, celebrities, philanthropists and sports aficionados. Women such as the first all-female tribal council of the Aqua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians in 1954. Women such as Pearl McCallum and Zaddie Bunker, real estate developers, and Ruth Hardy, the first female council member. They all placed their stamp on the landscape of the city. That history continues today with our recently elected council and many prominent women business leaders.
Our expert panel will review some of that history and their ongoing role. Don’t miss this panel discussion in recognition of Women’s History Month.
Also at this meeting we will be voting on endorsement of a candidate for Rancho Mirage City Council and approval of our amended by-laws.
