Wreaths Across America help make sure no Veteran is forgotten at Christmas

PALM DESERT — Wreaths Across America will receive unbridled support from East Valley Republican Women Patriots to help ensure no Veteran is forgotten at Christmas.

The participating local venue is Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City.

This is the first year the political organization has participated in the program whose mission it is to remember the fallen, honor those who serve, and teach the next generation the value of freedom.

“The goal for EVRWP is to support efforts that help unify our community and celebrate our freedom by thanking the 2,600 veterans laid to rest in Desert Memorial Park with the placement of a live, balsam veteran’s wreath this December,” President Joy Miedecke said.

Wreaths Across America coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at more than 3,400 locations across the United States, at sea and abroad.

From the Revolutionary War to present day conflicts, our veterans are devoted sons and daughters, fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers. They come from all backgrounds in life to place those lives on the line for our freedoms. There are millions of individual stories to tell.

Get to know them by viewing the 4,760 recent posts made by our supporters or sponsor a wreath in honor of or in memory of an American hero.

What does it mean to sponsor a wreath? It means you’ll honor an American hero at one of more than 2,800 locations nationwide this year on Wreaths Across America Day. It’s a day that’s been set aside to lay wreaths at the places where we remember, honor and teach about our veterans: cemeteries, monuments, parks… Anywhere we can pay tribute to their sacrifices.

So, what does it mean to sponsor a wreath? It means you have the opportunity to join a grateful nation in saying “thank you” to our veterans.
