Assemblymember Warns Residents of Extreme Heat Alert
Assemblymember Greg Wallis, R-Bermuda Dunes, on Tuesday issued an excessive heat alert waning: The Coachella Valley is facing dangerously high temperatures this week, with excessive heat expected to last several days across our region and the greater Southwest. Local forecasts are calling for triple-digit temperatures and elevated health risks, especially for older adults, children, and those working outdoors.
Please take extra precautions to stay safe during this extreme weather:
- Stay indoors during peak heat hours (10 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
- Drink plenty of water—even if you’re not thirsty
- Avoid strenuous outdoor activity
- Check on elderly neighbors, young children, and pet
- Visit a local cooling center if needed
