Fides May Le Roy is a visionary who strives to draw the best potential from each student

CATHEDRAL CITY — Fides May Le Roy has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

In middle school, Le Roy was greatly inspired by her music teacher, who was a very talented violist and instructor. She subsequently earned a Bachelor of Arts in music education from Pepperdine University and a Master of Arts in educational administration from Concordia University. She began her career as the Director of Music Ministries at Mary Star of the Sea and Padre Serra Catholic Churches in Oxnard and Camarillo, respectively. Later, she accepted the position of the Vice-president for Public Services at Applied Scholastics International in St. Louis, Missouri. She currently serves as the Director of Choral Activities at Cathedral City High School and Nellie Coffman Middle School. Ms. Le Roy also works as a freelance professional piano accompanist and is a private music teacher at Bermuda Dunes Music Academy.

In her current position, Ms. Le Roy promotes musical and educational opportunities at state and national levels. Choirs under her direction have earned Gold, Superior and Excellent ratings at local, regional and national choral music festivals. Additionally, she leads the coordination of musical rehearsals and trains students from beginner to advanced levels. As an accomplished professional, she has mentored many young musicians throughout her career. Recently, she received an email from a former pupil who just recently earned his doctorate and has credited much of his success to her mentorship. This has made her very proud and grateful. Le Roy was later inspired to pursue a Doctor of Education at Northcentral University.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Le Roy volunteers with the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission and Narrow Doorway. She maintains her professional affiliation with the Southern California Vocal Association, the American Choral Directors Association and the California Teachers Association. Throughout her career, she has attributed her professional success to learning from her students and her superiors. She has also received endless support from her community, which has pushed her to continue in the field. Looking toward the future,  Le Roy plans to complete her degree and possibly venture into an administrative position.
