Fundraiser Set for Barkee Laroux’s House of Love

First major fundraiser organized to benefit Barkee Laroux’s House of Love Animal Sanctuary

PALM SPRINGS – A community of supporters of Barkee Laroux’s House of Love Animal Sanctuary is coming together to host the inaugural fundraiser for the non-profit organization.

To be held on Sept. 21 at PS UNDERGROUND, ‘Bash for the Barkees’ will include a divine family-style meal, exciting auction items, and fantastic entertainment to raise much-needed funds for Barkee Laroux’s House of Love Animal Sanctuary.

A stellar group of some of the Coachella Valley’s most celebrated voices will perform for this evening of generosity and friendship including Siobhan Velarde, Keisha D, Dion Khan, Brian Scott, Tod Macofsky, Gilmore Rizzo, Robbie Wayne, Bonnie Gilgallon, Jeff Barnett, Leanna & Miguel, Lizzie Grace, Francesca Amari, and more.

Tickets are $55 per person and include salad, entrée, and dessert. Starting at 6 pm., there will be a no-host bar as well as opportunities to bid on fun auction items.

In a prepared statement, Carlynne McDonnell, founder and executive director of the animal sanctuary said, “I am so excited about this wonderful opportunity to raise money for Barkee LaRoux’s House of Love. Our needs for medical care are always the most pressing given that we only rescue senior dogs, often in medical crisis and most at the end of their lives. Our mission is to provide love and care to abandoned senior dogs at the end of their lives. We are so grateful to the extremely talented Siobhan Velarde for planning this event, to the talented artists that are donating their time, and to PS Underground for hosting.”

Money raised at ‘Bash for the Barkees’ helps to support the organization’s efforts to provide veterinary care, medicine, transportation, and nutrition at the animal sanctuary.
