Hit and Run Leaves Palm Springs Woman dead

CATHEDRAL CITY —A 31-year-old Palm Springs woman is dead following a hit and run at 11:12 p.m. Wednesday at Ramon Road at Landau Boulevard, Sgt. Mark Robles reported. The woman’s name was not released.

Cathedral City Police Department (CCPD) officers were dispatched to the area of Ramon Road, at the intersection of Landau Boulevard regarding a traffic collision involving a vehicle versus a bicyclist. Upon arrival, officers located the bicyclist, an adult female lying in the roadway with severe injuries. The female subject was unresponsive.

Cathedral City Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced the female bicyclist deceased.

The vehicle involved in this collision left the scene prior to police arriving. The Cathedral City Police Department is investigating the collision and following up on leads to identify the driver/vehicle who fled the scene. Eastbound lanes of Ramon Road at Landau Boulevard were closed for several hours. All lanes of travel have been re-opened.
