LeAnn Rimes to Appear at The Show at Agua Caliente Rancho Mirage

PALM DEERT — The legendary LeAnn Rimes is coming to the Coachella Valley on April 4 for College of the Desert’s Stepping Out 2024.

As an international multi-platinum selling acclaimed singer and ASCAP award-winning songwriter, Rimes has sold more than 37 million records worldwide, won two Grammy Awards, 12 Billboard Music Awards, two World Music Awards, three Academy of Country Music Awards, two Country Music Association Awards and one Dove Award. At age 14, she won “Best New Artist” making her the youngest recipient to take home a Grammy Award, according to her biography.

Following that record-breaking year with her biggest hit to date, “How Do I Live,” in 1997, Rimes released more hits including “One Way Ticket (Because I Can),” “The Light in Your Eyes” and many more.

She has released a total of 19 albums in her career and, along the way, she has broken into the acting world with roles in Coyote Ugly, in 2000, a few TV movies and Fox’s “The Masked Singer.”

Catherine Abbott, executive director of College of the Desert Foundation, made the announcement Friday during the Board of Trustees monthly meeting. The event has traditionally been held at the McCallum Theater but will be moved to The Show at located at Agua Caliente Rancho Mirage for this year only because it has a larger seating capacity.

Stepping Out for COD is a fundraising event organized by the College of the Desert Foundation to support students in need of financial assistance. The event has been held annually for several years and has raised over $550,000 for COD students in the past. The event features a variety of activities, including live music performances by renowned artists such as Ann Hampton Callaway, Luci Arnaz, and Matthew Morrison 23.

Stepping Out 2023 was a success, raising more than $550,000 for COD students, according to the Foundation.
