PALM DESERT — If you’re still basking in the glow of the holiday and aren’t quite ready to let it go. the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens is ready to oblige.

The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens is giving guests a few more hours to enjoy the sights, sounds, and holiday lights of the zoo. From Wednesday, Dec. 26 through Monday, Dec. 31, The Living Desert will be open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

During the extended hours, guests will enjoy holiday lights and light displays and will be able to see many of the zoo’s African animals including giraffe, cheetahs, zebras and warthogs. A special animal care keeper chat will be held at 6 p.m. In addition, camel rides will be available for $6 and carousel rides for $3. All food and beverage outlets and the gift shop also will remain open until 7 p.m.

You won’t want to miss the s’mores station, hot chocolate, or hot buttered popcorn while soaking in the millions holiday lights.

“We invite everyone to come out and enjoy a few extra hours exploring the park and marveling at the holiday lights,” said Dawn Petrick, Director of Park Services.

Regular admission prices apply prior to 5 p.m. and admission after 5 p.m. is reduced to $8 members $10 for non-members, with the last entry at 6 p.m.
