MSWD Announces the 2027 Student Art Calendar Contest

DESERT HOT SPRINGS — Mission Springs Water District (MSWD) is encouraging local students to showcase their creativity and their passion for water through its annual Student Art Calendar Contest.

Open now through Oct. 1, the contest encourages students in grades K–12 to submit original artwork inspired by water conservation or groundwater protection for a chance to be featured in MSWD’s 2027 community calendar.

The top twelve entries will be featured in the District’s 2027 community calendar. Winners will receive Amazon gift cards, with prizes valued at $150 for first place, $100 for second place, $50 for third place, and $25 for all other selected drawings. The contest is open to all K-12 students residing within the MSWD service area.

Students can enter by creating an original picture depicting one of the following six messages:

💧 Saving Water

💧 Proper disposal of fats, oils, and grease (FOG)

💧 Water-wise car washing

💧 Drinking water quality

💧 Don’t flush wipes

💧 Water-efficient desert landscaping

Drawings should be created on WHITE paper with crayons, paint, and/or colored pencils/pens. The full-color artwork is preferred over black and white. Computer-generated artwork will not be accepted.
