Update on Salton Sea Project to be Presented for North Shore

NORTH SHORE – Riverside County Supervisor V. Manuel Perez, the California Natural Resources Agency and the Salton Sea Authority are holding a meeting next week to provide an update to the community regarding a future Salton Sea project in North Shore.

The North Lake Pilot Demonstration Project Community Update meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 29 at the new North Shore Fire Station 41, located at 99-064 Sea View Dr., North Shore, CA  92254, and by Zoom. Spanish interpretation will be provided.

The North Lake Pilot Demonstration Project is a much-anticipated restoration project being planned along Riverside County’s northern shore of the Salton Sea. The project is being led by Riverside County, which received $19.25 million in state funding for the work.

Since 2022, Riverside County has been working with the engineering firm Dudek on the design of the project and geotechnical work.

The meeting will present an overview of the project. Supervisor Perez welcomes the public to provide feedback.

“This meeting is very important and much needed to inform everyone about this project,” said Supervisor Perez. “We look forward to coming to North Shore to give an update on this project and get thoughts from the community.”
