Palm Springs Police Invite Community, Media to Second Walk with a Cop Event

PALM SPRINGS — The Palm Springs Police Department urges  members of the community and local media to join officers for the department’s second Walk with a Cop event on Saturday, Septe. 26 in downtown Palm Springs.

Following the department’s inaugural event in May, PSPD is bringing back this opportunity to connect with residents while promoting pedestrian safety. Walk With a Cop provides an informal setting for community members to engage with officers, ask questions, share concerns, and learn practical ways to stay safe while walking in Palm Springs.

The event will begin with a brief pedestrian safety presentation, followed by a community walk alongside Palm Springs police officers. Multiple walking groups and distances will be available to accommodate participants of varying abilities and fitness levels.

Event Details

  • Saturday, September 26, 2026
  • Forever Marilyn statue, downtown Palm Springs
  • 7:00 AM – Pedestrian Safety Presentation (A brief educational session covering practical pedestrian safety tips.)
  • 8:00 AM – Walk With a Cop (A community walk lasting approximately 30 minutes to one hour, with multiple groups and distances available.)

All ages are welcome. Participants are encouraged to register in advance using the event’s QR code. (See attachment)
