The Rancho Mirage Parks and Trails Commission is Holding a Community Workshop to Glean Input on the Expansion of Wolfson Park

RANCHO MIRAGE — What improvements do you think are needed at  Michael S. Wolfson Park, which is located at DaVall and Frank Sinatra Drives? Now is your chance to let your desires be known.

The Rancho Mirage Parks & Trails Commission is encouraging members of the public to participate in the March 31 Zoom meeting to discuss a possible expansion of the existing Wolfson Park, 70-001 Frank Sinatra Drive.  The meeting is set for 4 p.m.

The Commission consists of five members appointed by the City Council. The general purpose of the Commission is to encourage the development of a balanced system of parks and trails which meet the recreational needs of City residents. The Commission achieves this purpose by serving in an advisory capacity to the City Council.

Members of the public unable to attend the public hearing may submit their comments in writing to: City of Rancho Mirage, 69-825 Highway 111, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270, Attn: City Clerk or via email to KristieR@RanchoMirageCA.gov by 10 a.m. on March 31, 2021

Dedicated on November 26, 1986,  on a one-acre, triangular-shaped parcel adjacent to the trails system and the Whitewater Wash. This park has a Victorian theme that features a fountain, decorative lighting fixtures, benches, a Braille-marked trail and a fragrance garden.

This park also has picnic tables, benches, and a braille-marked walking path. Upon entering the park, visitors can play a recorded “welcome” message from Frank Sinatra, who lived nearby. The park was built in honor of former City Council Member Michael S. Wolfson, who served on the City Council from 1978 to 1986.

There are currently no restrooms at the park.

All of Rancho Mirage’s parks are pet-friendly, but your four-legged friends must remain on a leash at all times.
