In addition to public swimming there will also be swimming lessons available

CATHEDRAL CITY — Timing is everything. As the desert stands on the threshold of triple-digit temperatures, the City Council approved a multi-party contract with Palm Springs Unified School District and Desert Recreation District to offer public swimming at Cathedral City High School this summer starting June 6 through August 6, 2022.

You can almost hear the shouts of joy and feel the refreshment of a dip or swim in the pool.

Additionally, Desert Recreation District who will manage the swim activities will offer swimming lessons for youth and adults, team and lap swim, and water aerobics, just to name a few.  On two Saturdays during the summer, Desert Recreation District will hold special night swims after 7 p.m. that will include a movie and the sale of refreshments.

The 38-meter x 25-yard pool is designed for competitive swimming, water polo, diving, P.E. and teaching. Wide steps at the shallow end provide easy access for kids learning to swim.

It’s the school’s first swimming pool since opening in 1991.
