PALM SPRINGS — “Caniacs” in Coachella Valley will soon have a local opportunity to get their chicken-finger fix now that a new Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is under construction at the corner of Ramon Road and San Luis Rey Drive at the site of the former Office Depot building.

Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is set to bring its ONE LOVE® – quality chicken finger meals – to Palm Springs in December. No opening date has yet been set.

For those not familiar with the eatery, it all starts with the chicken finger. The 100% premium white meat chicken tenderloins are marinated, hand-battered and cooked to order. The menu is also renowned for its secret-recipe Cane’s sauce, crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw, Texas toast, freshly brewed sweet tea and fresh-squeezed lemonade.

The company is likewise known for its commitment to active community involvement, centered on its six areas of focus: education, feeding the hungry, pet welfare, business development and entrepreneurship, active lifestyles and “everything else!”

For now, the closest Raising Cane’s is in Beaumont. One is also under construction in Hemet.

The Palm Springs location, like many others will include drive-thru lanes, an outdoor patio and indoor dining. Takeout options will also be available.

The restaurant will have 91 seats and a drive-thru queue capacity of 22 vehicles, according to plans filed with the city.

Earlier this year, Forbes named Raising Cane’s one the best employers for women.

A friend suggested Todd Graves, founder, name the restaurant after his yellow Labrador retriever, “Raising Cane” who was always with Graves at the construction site. Since then, Graves has continued the tradition.

Founded by Graves in 1996,  RAISING CANE’S CHICKEN FINGERS has more than 520 restaurants in 28 states, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates with multiple new restaurants under construction.
