RANCHO MIRAGE — Coachella Valley Republicans, led by East Valley Republican Women Federated, are building momentum to rally support for President Trump when he visits the desert next week for a private fundraiser.

Republicans are urged to dress in patriotic gear and bring signs that in good taste.

Republicans will gather at Highway 111 and Bob Hope Drive on Wednesday, Feb. 19 between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., which is when Trump’s motorcade is expected to make its way through the area.

“Join us as we stand strong and show our support for President Trump as he visits our very own Coachella Valley,” Joy Miedecke, president of East Valley Republican Women Federated, posed on Facebook. “The dems (sic) will be out protesting so we NEED to show up!”

East Valley Republican Women Federated, which has more than 300 members and is the largest of its kind in the state,, is organizing a rally of support at the same time — and place —as Democrats who are planning a protest. East Valley Republican Women Federated will also be at the corner of Washington Street and Highway 111 in front of the AAA office at the same time, so supporters can go to either location.

The reason for the support is not complicated, according to Miedecke. “It’s because we love him and want to shout it from the roof tops,” she said.

The private fundraiser will be held at Larry Ellison’s Porcupine Creek estate less than two weeks before the Super Tuesday primary election, which includes California’s primary, according to CNBC. Ellison is chairman of Oracle.

The event will include a golf outing at Ellison’s home, according to CNBC. Supporters will have to pay $100,000 for the golf outing and to have their photo taken with the president. Supporters can pay $250,000 for a photo, golf outing, plus participation in a round table with the president.
