COACHELLA – With rain forecast across Southern California this week, the City wants to help residents prepare for potential flooding by giving free sandbags and sand to city residents. People living in unincorporated areas or other cities should check with their local agencies for distribution locations.

Free sandbags are being offered at two locations in Coachella:

• Corporate Yard, 53462 Enterprise Way; available Monday through Thursday, between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.

• Fire Station 79, 1377 Sixth Street; available Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, sandbags will not be available at the Corporate Yard on Thursday, November 28.

There is a limit of 10 bags per resident. The bags need to be filled with sand, which is available at the Coachella Corporate Yard only. Shovels are provided for those filling sandbags at this location.
