Shadow Hills High School

Our vision at Shadow Hills High School is to foster a growth mindset in all of our students, encourage academic achievement, and promote global citizenship. We strive to develop critical thinkers who analyze the questions of today to create solutions for tomorrow.

SHHS offers the Advanced Placement Capstone Diploma, equipping students with the independent research, collaborative teamwork, and communication skills that are increasingly valued by colleges.

This year Shadow Hills High School will begin offering dual enrollment courses with College of the Desert. Classes take place at Shadow Hills and allow our students to simultaneously earn high school and college credit.

Shadow Hills is proud to be a National AVID Site of Distinction. Our CTE (career technical education) program offers academies and pathways including technology and landscape management, aviation, engineering, emergency management, and education, all providing rigorous instruction and a dynamic student-centered environment.

Our special needs and English language learner students benefit from our unique inclusion model. Link Crew provides freshmen, from registration before the school year starts to the end of the school year, a support network that guides and mentors them through transition to high school. Additionally, the Freshmen Focus before-school program provides skill-building and academic organization to improve freshmen-level success provided by our counseling team.

The Renaissance program empowers students and the school to make education matter by boosting GPAs, increasing attendance, improving school pride and growing graduation rates through various recognition events and activities. Our community, students, parents, and staff have united to build a dynamic campus that promotes academic excellence and give definition to the motto, “Knights Do It Right!”

One of our greatest strengths is the pride and support from our community and parents. A partnership with the Indio Police Department provides a Safe Schools Resource Officer on campus every day of the week. Our SRO can be seen helping students, faculty and staff across campus providing a nurturing and safe community for all of our stakeholders.

Shadow Hills parents actively participate on the School Site Council, providing input on school programs and campus funding through the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). In conjunction with our community partners, our Counseling Department, School Psychologist, Student Assistance Program (SAP) Counselor, and School/Community Intervention team have developed systems that provide the necessary supports for student safety, academics, and social/emotional needs.

A wide variety of clubs and student activity programs, and competitive sports programs, all contribute to providing Shadow Hills students with an array of choices with which to be involved and explore their interests. Our school is big enough to serve the interests of groups yet small enough to ensure that each student is seen as an individual.

We are guided by our core values: respect, integrity, greatness, honor, teamwork.

Knights do it right!
