Taste Of Jalisco Festival Returns to Cathedral City Jan. 31 to Feb. 2, 2025
CATHEDRAL CITY – No sooner has the curtain fallen on the Hot Air Balloon Festival in this community than it’s preparing for the return of the Ninth Annual Taste of Jalisco Festival, celebrating the sights, sounds, and tastes of its sister city Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico here in Southern California.
Scheduled for Jan. 31 through Feb. 2 in downtown Cathedral City, this annual celebration honors the 28-year sister city relationship between Cathedral City and Tequila in the Mexican state of Jalisco through culture, arts, cuisine, music and fashion.
The Jalisco weekend includes a sprawling family-friendly carnival, an artisan craft vendor market, gold medal tequila tastings, authentic Mexican cuisine, community folklorico dance presentations, daily entertainment and more.
A highlight of the weekend will be entertainment from the Jalisco Community and City Hall Folklorico stages, featuring local and regional musical groups and live acts celebrating Mexican art and culture. Already set to perform are The Outlaw Mariachi, Maná tribute band Corazón De Maná and Selena tribute artists Dreaming of You.
Early bird advance pre-sale tickets are on sale now, starting at $6.50, here: https://tickets.eventhub.net/e/taste-of-jalisco-festival/tickets. The Sister City relationship between Cathedral City and Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico was first established in 1996 when the two cities entered into a formal Sister Cities agreement. Since then, exchanges between the cities have included art, culture, governmental best-practices, youth-focused educational opportunities, donation of firefighting equipment, and firefighter training, among others.
“The Taste of Jalisco is the most delicious and entertaining collaboration between Tequila and Cathedral City,” says Cathedral City Mayor Mark Carnevale. “We’re proud to share our history, cuisine, arts, and leading personalities in this expansive, expressive three-day celebration. We look for the event to further deepen and showcase our cultural and economic ties to the region
