The Groove Squad offers a high-energy show

INDIO — This community, the largest in the Coachella Valley, knows how to entertain. On the heels of Dreamboats in August come The Groove Squad month.

Downtown Indio will transform into Funky Town when The Groove Squad and DJ Gemini Nikki thrill the crowd with a lively evening of music, dancing and family fun at the next Second Saturday Center Stage.

Bring chairs and blankets or enjoy limited seating at the picnic and wine barrel tables. Chill out under the misters or cool down in the plentiful shade. In addition to live music, guests can enjoy craft beer, local food vendors, and plenty of family-focused activities as DJ Gemini Nikki spins tunes. All the action happens Saturday, Sept. 10, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 82868 Miles Ave. (near Smurr Street and Indio Boulevard) in Downtown Indio.

These free monthly concerts feature an energetic crowd and opportunities for compelling photos and video as visitors of all ages get down to enjoy the music, food and family fun. You won’t want to miss it.

The band has opened for acts including Tony Toni Tone and the premier of Get On Up, the James Brown biopic. The Groove Squad offers a high-energy show as they encourage everyone to move and groove to the beat.
