Board of Trustees Unanimously Approves Timeline for District Superintendent/President Recruitment Process

PALM DESERT – At the Board of Trustees meeting on Friday, Aug. 16, College of the Desert’s (COD) Board of Trustees unanimously approved the proposed search timeline for the District Superintendent/President. The timeline can be viewed on COD’s website.

The timeline, recommended by AGB Search, LLC, lays out dates for each step of the search to maintain transparency regarding the proceedings and to stay on schedule. College of the Desert is working with AGB Search, a search firm that specializes in finding quality candidates for executive leadership positions in higher education institutions.

“At COD, we recognize that the person who is chosen to fill the superintendent/president role is critical to our campus community and to the larger Coachella Valley community,” said Nicholas Robles, Interim Public Information Officer. “COD is vital to the community for training quality employees to fill labor shortages and for local students to be able to access a quality education near home. Therefore, it’s imperative that we find a leader who can support the school and the community.”

To gather insights on community expectations for this role, AGB Search will conduct an online survey and host listening sessions over a two-day period. Community members are urged to participate in the survey and share their feedback. The survey is expected to be open beginning August 28. The survey link will be shared via COD’s social media, newsletters and press releases.

The College has created a website landing page where COD residents can learn about the progress of the search, finalists and more all in one place. The webpage can be found at www.collegeofthedesert.edu/president.
