Donations Needed for Toy Drive Benefiting Local Children

PALM SPRINGS– ‘Tis the season of giving and the city of Palm Springs and the Parks & Recreation Department are asking the public to donate a new, unwrapped toy or gift card for a toy drive at one of five locations throughout the city before Dec. 13.

Donation bins can be found at Palm Springs City Hall, Demuth Community Center, Palm Springs Leisure Center, James O. Jessie Desert Highland Unity Center, and the Palm Springs Public Library. These toys and gift cards will be given to local children at two events in Palm Springs. The first event will be at the James O. Jessie Desert Highland Unity Center on Friday, December 17 and the second will be the Breakfast with Santa community event on Saturday, Dec. 18th at the Palm Springs Pavilion.

Both events are free, but reservations are recommended; more details about the events are available on the city’s website by clicking here.

“What a great opportunity for our community to provide local children with a present for the holidays” said Jeannie Kays, Director of Library Services and Interim Director of Parks & Recreation. “Giving and spreading joy is what the season is all about.”
