Coachella to host all Veterans and their families at pancake breakfast

COACHELLA – All Veterans from the Coachella Valley and their families are welcome to attend a free pancake breakfast at Veterans’ Memorial Park on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 9 a.m. This event honors Veterans from all branches of the military.

“Veterans hold a very special place in our community, and we are honored to pay them homage on a day we have dedicated to them,” Mayor Steven Hernandez said in a statement.

The pancake breakfast is open to all residents of the Coachella Valley and will feature special guests such as the American Legion Post 739, the CV High School Choir and the presentation of the Freedom Flags for families. Honored Veterans who will also offer a few words during the event, include Navy Veteran Rudy Gutierrez and 2nd Battalion 1st Marine William W. Collagan Jr.

“We honor all Veterans and the sacrifices they’ve made for our country and our freedoms,” said Mayor Pro Tem Josie Gonzalez. “This event is a small show of the appreciation we have for each and every one of them.”

Veterans Park includes a swimming pool and playground. It is located on Fourth Street, directly behind City Hall.
