Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King to speak in Coachella Valley

RANCHO MIRAGE — On the heels of Matt Gaetz in September, the East Valley Republican Women Patriots are bringing in Dr. Alveda King on Oct. 3.

King, the niece of slain civil right leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., is a former professor, minister, published author, former Georgia state legislator, a twice-assigned presidential appointee, and a 2021 recipient of the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award—presented by former President Donald J. Trump in recognition Dr. King’s lifelong commitment to building a stronger nation through volunteer service.

She is one of the nation’s most outspoken pro-life figures.

She is the founder and president of Speak for Life, chairman of the Center for the American Dream, and regular commentator as a Fox News Channel contributor, host of “Alveda King’s House” on Fox Nation, and Newsmax opinion contributor. King was also a former Georgia State Legislator, college professor, and a 2021 recipient of the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award—presented by former President Donald J. Trump in recognition Dr. King’s lifelong commitment to building a stronger nation through volunteer service.

With a testimony that includes one involuntary and one voluntary abortion in the early 1970s, as well as mothering six children, Dr. King is both a pro-life activist and a post-abortive mother. Through the recently launched Speak for Life, Dr. King is mobilizing generations of advocates to boldly speak for life and human dignity.

In promotional materials for the event, promoters say, “Hear her story as only she can tell it.” Attendees are also they will why King is an “avid supporter” of Donald Trump.

King will speak at the Agua Caliente Casino ballroom, 32-250 Bob Hope Drive. The price is $95 for members and $100 for non-members. To make reservations, call 760-771-9771. The ballroom opens at 11 a.m. The program starts promptly at 11:30 a.m.

East Valley Republican Women Patriots was chartered in 2021. With more than 1,600 members, it is the largest group of its kind in the nation, according to President Joy Miedecke.
