CCPD Makes 15 Arrests, Issues Citations

As Mongols Rolled into Town Friday Evening, Cathedral City Police were Ready, Making 15 Arrests in 12-hour period

CATHEDRAL CITY — The Mongols Motorcycle Club, identified as an outlaw motorcycle gang by the U.S. Department of Justice,  kept local law enforcement busy Friday night,

On Sept. 18, Cathedral City Police, along with allied agencies, conducted high-visibility enforcement throughout the city and surrounding jurisdictions.

During the operational period from about 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., officers made 15 arrests. The arrests involved narcotics violations, possession of stolen property, and driving on suspended licenses and warrants Commander Jon Enos. said in a news release.

Of the 15 arrests, three involved weapons violations, and three handguns were recovered, Enos wrote.  Officers issued 42 citations, and five vehicles were stored and/or impounded.

The incidents took place at multiple locations throughout the valley, according to Enos.

The group is lodging st the DoubleTree by Hilton at Vista Chino and Landau Boulevard. The manager did not return telephone messages from Uken Report.

The Cathedral City Police Department is committed to public safety and will continue with enforcement through the weekend, Enos said.

“We want to thank our allied agency partners: California Highway Patrol, Riverside County Sheriff, Desert Hot Springs Police Department, Palm Springs Police Department, Indio Police Department, and California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Parole Agents,” Enos said.
