Bring the whole family, stay cool — and dive in the pool this summer when the Palm Springs Parks and Recreation Department presents its annual “Dive-In Movie” Family Film Series.

The Dive-In Movie series includes three movie nights. It kicks off Saturday, June 22 at the Palm Springs Swim Center, 401 S. Pavilion Way. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. All films start at sunset.

Get there early for a spot in the pool.

The series of dive-in movies will show on the following dates:

  • Dumbo, Saturday, June 22. In this dive-in movie, Dumbo is about a young elephant, whose oversized ears enable him to fly, helps save a struggling circus, but when the circus plans a new venture, Dumbo and his friends discover dark secrets beneath its shiny veneer, according to IMDb.
  • Ralph Breaks the Internet, Saturday, July 20. Six years after the events of “Wreck-It Ralph,” Ralph and Vanellope, now friends, discover a wi-fi router in their arcade, leading them into a new adventure.
  • Aquaman, Saturday, Aug. 17. In the last dive-in movie,, Arthur Curry, the human-born heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, goes on a quest to prevent a war between the worlds of ocean and land.

Admission is $2 for children ages 4-12, $4 for adults and $10 for a family of four. It’s a great and inexpensive way for the entire family to spend an evening together.

“Summer is about spending quality time with each other and making memories that will last a lifetime,” said Cynthia Alvarado Crawford, the City’s director of Parks and Recreation. “Palm Springs Parks and Recreation invites families to stay cool this summer and dive in with us for swimming and a movie. You won’t want to miss the fun!”

The Palm Springs Swim Center is located in the Sunrise Plaza complex, immediately adjacent to the Leisure Center. The Swim Center features an Olympic-size swimming pool.
