El Grito 2018

COACHELLA – After a three-year wait, this community will host its annual Fiestas Patrias event, also known as El Grito, at Rancho Las Flores Park on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

This popular and beloved event will offer a lineup of live entertainers, including Los 2 De La S, Neto Bernal, Los Morros del Norte, El As de la Sierra, Banda Reyna del Valle and Grupo Karisma.

“This event highlights our connection to Mexico and to our culture,” Mayor Steven Hernandez said in a prepared statement. “Our community is primarily comprised of many generations from Mexico, so we proudly come together to celebrate the independence of our country.”

The ample, open space at Rancho Las Flores Park will display a variety of experiences for attendees including food vendors, activities for the kids, information booths with free giveaways, and much more. Coolers and outside alcohol will not be permitted at the event.

“Our residents take pride in celebrating Mexican Independence Day in their own backyard because culture happens to be the heart and soul of our wonderful City,” Councilmember Denise Delgado said in a prepared statement.

The city’s main partners for this include La Poderosa 96.7 FM and Telemundo 15 Palm Springs, the Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Consulado de Carrera de Mexico in San Bernardino.
