Dan Ball, Former Coachella Valley Newsman, to Speak at Trump Rally
COACHELLA — Emmy award-winning journalist Dan Ball, a U.S. Air Force Veteran who worked in broadcast television news in Palm Springs, will speak at the Trump rally this weekend. Riverside County Sheriff Chad Biano, who has advocated putting a felon in the White House, will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, Uken Report has learned.
The Trump rally will be held at the Calhoun Ranch, 52995 Calhoun St., in Coachella on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Riverside County Democratic Party leaders question why a candidate “whose policies repeatedly harmed families and other vulnerable communities would choose to hold a rally in a city so clearly at odds with his agenda.” Coachella is a community where over 97% of the population is Latino and whose values of diversity, compassion, and inclusion stand in stark contrast to everything he represents.
Uken Report (UR) caught up with Ball, host of “Real America” an opinionated Conservative talk show, on Thursday on his way to the studio in San Diego to ask him a few questions. His show airs on One America Network.
UR: So, what are you speaking about?
Dan Ball:
I’ll be speaking about the importance of electing Donald J. Trump and all the American first candidates down ballot in California and across this country, so we can fix this Republic.
UR: And Dan, why you?
Dan Ball: I think my connections to the Valley, I think that the President knows that like him, I speak from the heart and off the cuff. I don’t like teleprompters and speeches. I think that Coachella Valley residents and the American people as a whole are sick and tired of the BS and the lies from the mainstream media and from the politicians, and they want to feel that when leaders speak to them, they’re being honest and earnest. And I think because of my connection to that desert, being a member of the media in that desert for all those years and being a patriot, I think that’s why I was selected to speak. I think that Team Trump knows that I will give it to the residents of the Valley straight on why I’m supporting the 45th president for reelection and that I’m not going to feed them any lines like the fake news does every day.
That’s why I’m so glad I was able to get out of the fake news and work somewhere that allows me to speak real truth to power, because the mainstream media does not do that. And I know it firsthand because I’ve been in this business 32 years.
UR: Who invited you to speak?
Dan Ball: It was kind of a collaborative effort. I was speaking with some Team Trump members that are actually friends of mine. Some of the folks have worked in the media before. And then I was speaking with our CEO of our network, Charles Herring, and it just kind of all came together. We were looking to attend because obviously the desert has always been my home. Even though I was born in Ohio, I spent about 18 years there, then went into service and directly out of the Air Force I moved to La Quinta up in The Cove in December of 96, and I worked for all three affiliates and I lived there for umpteen years. My daughter was born there. It’s my second home.
And so, we were reaching out to just get some tickets, some passes so that we could attend. And then the conversation kind of went from there to, “Well, what about speaking?” I think it was they were looking at getting some other speakers involved from the Valley, and I was helping to facilitate that like Sheriff Bianco and some others. And then it just presented itself like, “Why don’t you speak too?”
UR: Dan, what do you make of Congressman Ruiz’s and Coachella Mayor Steven Hernandez’s recent comments?
Dan Ball: I saw that. You’re talking about all the nasty comments from Ruiz and the rest of the Democrats and the East Side Mafia Democrats in that Valley that said he doesn’t belong there. He’s not of the people. Why is he even coming?
Well, that just goes to show how out of touch those elected leaders and mouthpieces for the Democrat Party are. They are so far out of touch. They don’t realize that every day average Americans that live in that valley that are burdened by high gas prices, inflation, grocery prices they can’t afford, home prices, rent they can’t afford. They’re so far out of touch. Those folks are looking for someone to give them hope and give them relief, and they’re going to see tens of thousands of people show up to support Donald Trump because they believe that man and his bigger picture, his agenda, the American First Agenda will help restore the American dream so that everybody can at least try to obtain it, for God’s sakes.
And those guys are doing nothing more than being lapdogs and doing exactly what they’re told by their party. And if you’ve noticed over the years, Donald Trump doesn’t do things for the Republican Party. Donald Trump does things for the American people. That’s what his messaging has always been about.
UR: Why is Trump making a visit here?
Dan Ball: I am not going to speak out of turn and speak for the president. I don’t know the inner workings of his mind or his team and why they would choose California. I mean, I’ve spoken to Conservative pundits and political strategists, and I think there’s a couple reasons why the president would come this late in the race to California where people mostly think, “Well, it’s a blue state, it’s a write-off, forget about it.” But I think one, he wants to inspire people and give them more hope, that there is change on the way that will end these wars, that will reduce the inflation, that will bring down the spending, that will get rid of all this woke ideology in our schools and our military making us weak. They want the borders sealed up. They want crime down. They’re tired of being lied to by the politicians and their media.
I think that a couple of the reasons he would come to Cali, one, to help any of the down-ballot candidates who are still looking for that last push across the finish line, whether that’s Steve Garvey or Ken Calvert. I think that he really truly believes maybe that he can zero in and get even the popular vote because so many Americans are so upset and fed up with the Biden-Harris regime at the last four years they’ve been suffering under. So, I think it’s to help down-ballot candidates in the American First Movement. I think it’s to possibly try and take the popular vote. And I also think it’s just Donald Trump’s swagger and style. The Teflon Don is saying, “I don’t care that it’s a radically dominant blue state. There are millions of Republicans that live in this state, and they never get a voice, so I’m going to go speak to them and with them.”
So, I think it’s three-fold. I think it’s down ballot, it’s popular vote and it’s, “You know what? I don’t care if it’s a blue state and people say, why go? I’m Donald J. Trump and I’m going.” And that’s his style and I love it.
As you may recall, in 2017, Ball launched a bid for California’s 36th Congressional District, a seat once held by Sonny and Mary Bono. Democratic Congressman Dr. Raul Ruiz now holds the seat.
