Palm Springs Public Library to Give Away Free Diapers

PALM SPRINGS – For the second time this year, the Palm Springs Public Library will be distributing free diapers. The first time was in March.

Palm Springs Public Library has received a second distribution of diapers, this time comprised of four sizes from Baby2Baby, a national non-profit that provides children living in poverty with diapers, clothing and all the basic necessities that every child deserves. These diapers will be distributed to families at the Library.

Families can request diapers once a week on a first-come, first-served basis, and are encouraged to come to Preschool Story Time on Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m. and enjoy stories,
crafts and then pick up diapers. Packs of diapers in sizes 2 (12-18 lbs.). 3 (16-28 lbs.). 4 (22-37 lbs.) or size 5 (27+ lbs.) are available with two packages of baby wipes and will be given out to families at the Library while supplies last.

These diapers and wipes were generously provided by Baby2Baby, an organization led by Co-CEOs Kelly Sawyer Patricof and Norah Weinstein. In the past 11 years, Baby2Baby has distributed
more than 270 million items to children in homeless shelters, domestic violence programs, foster care, hospitals, and underserved schools as well as children who have lost everything in the wake of disaster.

“The Library is a community resource and we are honored to be participating in this program offered by Baby2Baby to meet the needs of families in our community,” Jeannie Kays, director
of Library Services said in a statement. “We know that families are struggling to make ends meet these days, so we are excited to offer these diapers and wipes and our preschool story time is a great opportunity for families to come to the library for stories, fun and diapers.”
