Halloween Dog Costume Event at the Panorama Dog Park

CATHEDRAL CITY — For the first time, a Halloween Dog Costume Event is planned in this community at Panorama Dog Park on Saturday, Oct. 28 complete with prizes — HOWL-O-WEEN.

Parks and Community Events (PACE) Commissioner Antonio Baciu advanced the idea, the City Council approved.

This Event encourages dog owners to dress up their canine in a festive or scary Halloween costume and compete for prizes. This event is designed to not only feature the dogs, but also showcase the Panorama Dog Park.

It is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

“We are very excited at PACE for this event,” Baciu told Uken Report. “Every year Americans spend $700 million on Halloween costumes for their dogs, now we have an opportunity for residents who buy or make costumes to bring the dogs down to the Panorama Dog Park and enter to win prizes.”

We are also happy to partner with the Humane Society of the Desert to have an adoption area outside the Dog Park, Baciu said.

“It would be wonderful if the dogs found forever homes from our event,” he added. “I expect the fun-meter at this event to be at 100%, dogs dressed up in great costumes. What’s not to love about that? Our friends at Grocery Outlet (Date Palm) will be providing free beverages and baked goods for people and the dogs. You don’t have to own a dog to join in the fun.”

Prizes are as follows:

Small Dogs

  • 1st Prize: $75 gift cards for Nicolino’s and Tortillas restaurants
  • 2nd Prize: $54 movie passes to The Mary Pickford Theater
  • 3rd Prize: $25 gift card for Michoacán Ice Cream Stores

  • 1st Prize: $75 gift cards for Nicolino’s and Tortillas restaurants
  • 2nd Prize: $54 movie passes to The Mary Pickford Theater
