Hit-and-Run Driver Sought in Fatal Bicycle Accident

CATHEDRAL CITY — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the hit-and-run driver involved in a fatal bicycle accident, Traffic Investigator Albert Felix said.

On May 8, shortly after 11 p.m. Cathedral City Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of Ramon Road and Landau Boulevard regarding a traffic collision involving a vehicle versus a bicyclist. The bicyclist was pronounced deceased as a result of the collision.

Based upon the investigation, Traffic Investigators are looking for the following vehicle: Suspect vehicle is possibly a 2014-2019 Nissan Versa. The Nissan is dark colored and should have major front-end damage with missing parts. Cathedral City Police traffic investigators are following up on leads to identify the driver/vehicle who fled the scene.
