Coachella to Conclude Women’s History Month with Inaugural Women’s Summit

COACHELLA – The city has added a new event to its roster, and it’s set to take place during Women’s History Month. Coachella’s Women’s Summit will welcome 200 guests to Veterans’ Memorial Park Saturday, March 30 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This event will commemorate the achievements of women who take on meaningful roles in their industries, as well as organizations that focus on educating and providing resources to females committed to pursuing their professional aspirations.

The city has secured a roster of highly accomplished women from across the Coachella Valley and other areas as speakers for the event to share their paths to success, and how they dominate space in their respective positions.

Confirmed speakers include Amanda Augustine, Tribal Chairperson for the Augustine Band of Cahuilla Indians Elizabeth Romero, Assistant Vice Chancellor of Governmental & Community Relations at the University of California, Riverside (UCR); Mariela Magaña Ceballos, third-year Medical Student at A.T. Still University, School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona and current Lift to Rise Vice Chair Board Member; Violeta Aguilar-Wyrick, founder of Xara Public Affairs; Zaira Garcia Navarro, Founder of Young Women Empowerment Club (YWEC); and the Honorable Laura Garcia, Judge of the Riverside County Superior Court.

Guest speakers will share their personal stories. The event will conclude with a question-and-answer session moderated by Tiani Jadulang, reporter at NBC Palm Springs. The event program also includes a hosted breakfast and lunch for attendees, and an exhibitor showcase for local businesses and nonprofit organizations.

“This is the first-ever Women’s Summit being hosted in the City of Coachella, and I am extremely proud of all the wonderful work and effort our staff has been putting into making this idea a reality,” said Mayor Pro Tem Stephanie Virgen. “The purpose of this event is to honor and celebrate Women’s History Month all while building community. We know the difference it makes to have other women as mentors, especially for those who are embarking on a new journey. This is event is the beginning of something special, a place where women will feel seen, understood and more importantly supported.”
