No weapons found in threat to shoot students

CATHEDRAL CITY — About 6:30 a.m. on June 2, 2023, the Cathedral City Police Department received a tip regarding a juvenile making threats to shoot students at Cathedral City High School, according to Sgt. Nate Hanley.

Cathedral City Police School Resource Officer and Detectives investigated the information and were able to locate and arrest the juvenile for making terrorist threats against the school.

No weapons were located nor involved in the threats, and no specific students were directly named or threatened in this case.

The arrestee was a 16-year-old Cathedral City resident and student at the High School, 69250 Dinah Shore Drive. The arrestee’s information is being withheld due to the fact they are a juvenile. Cathedral City Police Department would like to thank the community members who provided information in this matter.
