Cody Schieferstine, a student at Palm Desert High School, is looking to complete his Boy Scout Eagle Project.
He has created a flag retirement box that will be installed at the Elks Lodge in Indio on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017 at a.m.
There will be a ceremony to celebrate the installation. Cody is hoping that folks around the desert will take advantage of this presentation on the proper way to retire a United States flag. The Indio Elks Lodge #1643 is located at 46301 Madison Street in Indio.
