Friends of the Palm Springs Library Give Back with FREE Gift Wrapping on Shop Small Saturday.

PALM SPRINGS — What’s better than a full day of shopping in downtown Palm Springs on Shop Small Saturday? Free gift wrapping, of course.

The Friends of the Palm Springs Library (Friends) will be offering free gift wrapping (some restrictions apply) downtown at the Welwood Murray Memorial Library in the Cornelia White Community room as part of Shop Small Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. All in the effort to give back to the community and support the merchants during this holiday season!

People can bring in up to three (3) items to be wrapped for free with receipt showing proof of purchase that day from a Palm Springs merchant. There will be gift bags in at least three sizes (some size restrictions apply) and wrapping paper for pre-boxed items, all in an effort to encourage shopping downtown and to celebrate the holidays!

“This is a great opportunity for the Friends to say ‘Thank You’ to all the local merchants for their support of the Library” said Nanci Morrison, President of the Friends of the Palm Springs Library. “It is also another opportunity for us to serve the community and bring them into the downtown Library!”

The Friends will also have their colorful 50th anniversary merchandise displayed and for sale that day for that person who just has everything! T-shirts come in child and adult sizes and a variety of colors. An apron and a tote bag are also available for purchase. Prices for the merchandise vary and proceeds help pay for the care of the koi pond at the library and other Library programs.

Friends of the Palm Springs Library raise money for the library through daily and annual book sales, special events, planned giving, annual dues and grants. The Friends are also a registered charity with AmazonSmile.com, making it possible, if selected when shopping online, for a percentage of most of the purchases made to go to the Friends of the Palm Springs Library!

The Friends mission is to support the Library in providing world-class service to the community through the purchase of books, movies, music, the visual arts, furnishings, and electronic equipment by advocating for funding, gifts, and memorials. The Friends also raise awareness about the library and are the link between the Library and the community and its elected officials.  The Friends support programs that encourage reading, culture, and the arts as well as volunteer-based activities to support our greater community.
