INDIO — Loma Linda University Children’s Health welcoms community members to an open house on Wednesday, March 4, from 6 – 8 p.m.

The open house will be held at Loma Linda University Children’s Health – Indio, Jill & Barry Golden Pavilion, 82-934 W Civic Center Drive in Indio.

The event will be come and go, with refreshments, tours of the Indio clinic, activity stations for families and the opportunity to meet clinic staff and physicians. Stations will have various activities, including:

  • Healthy eating station where kids will receive a pouch of vegetable seeds, dirt and stickers to decorate their own container for planting
  • Dental station with teeth brushing demo where participants will receive a mini-toothbrush/toothpaste kit
  • Neurology subspecialist onsite
  • A behavioral health station where participants will receive a free book

This open house will allow the opportunity for community members to better acquaint themselveswith the Indio clinic and its services in affiliation with SAC Health System (SACHS), including primary care, behavioral health, cardiology, community resource center, dental, endocrinology, gastroenterology, genetics, neurology, neuromuscular disorder, occupational therapy and pulmonology.

Like Loma Linda University Children’s Health, SACHS is a non-profit organization whose mission and vision includes serving the underserved community.

tThe clinic is the largest pediatric clinic in the area at nearly 13,000 square feet with 20 patient exam rooms, three dental chairs and an X-ray room. Approximately 150 children are served each week with appointments between general pediatrics and the various sub-specialties.

LLU Children’s Health – Indio offers a broad scope of pediatric services including:

  • General pediatrics: acute same-day sick visits, well-child and well-adolescent care, sports physicals and care for complex medical conditions
  • Behavioral health counseling
  • Pediatric gastroenterology
  • Pediatric neurology
  • Pediatric endocrinology
