Palm Springs to Host Local Government Vendor Fair

City of Palm Springs to Host Inaugural Coachella Valley Local Government Vendor Fair, April 17

PALM SPRINGS — Consider this your personal invitation to do business with Coachella Valley local governments and agencies – and learn more about the process at the Inaugural Coachella Valley Local Government Vendor Fair, slated for Wednesday, April 17 at the Palm Springs Convention Center, 277 N. Avenida Caballeros.

The free event, which will be held from 9 a.m. to noon in the Oasis 1 Ballroom, will feature more than 20 cities and agencies that include Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, La Quinta, Indio, Coachella, CVAG, the County of Riverside, and much more.

The event will include a 45-minute presentation from local government officials beginning at 9 a.m. followed by the fair, which will officially open at 10 a.m. Attendees will have an opportunity to talk with government officials who will explain the procurement and contracting process and the types of supplies and services they are looking to procure.

The Local Government Vendor Fair is ideal for businesses that provide services such as: General Contracting, Landscaping, Engineering, Electrical, Plumbing, Painting, Janitorial Services, Security Services, Printing, Photography, Graphic Design, Web Development, Technology Consulting, Marketing Services – and much more.

“For years now, I have heard from local businesses that they don’t understand how to do business with Palm Springs and other municipalities and agencies,” said Palm Springs Mayor and local business owner Jeffrey Bernstein,” who spearheaded the event.

“Our goal is to give local businesses the chance to learn directly from City staff about the sometimes overwhelming procurement and contracting process. At the same time, we’ll give our local businesspeople an opportunity to meet with government officials from around the Coachella Valley and Riverside County, who are in need of a variety of goods and services,” said Mayor Bernstein, who added, “It’s important to ensure taxpayer dollars, which amount to tens of millions of dollars a year, are spent in the Coachella Valley and Riverside County where they can do the most good and stimulate our local
economy.”
