PALM DESERT — Potential students and their families are encouraged to get a sneak peek of the Roadrunner experience at the Palm Desert Campus and Indio Campus at a Family Night open house event. The Palm Springs Family Night will be announced at a later time.

This marks the first family night COD has hosted since before COVID-19, Nicholas Robles, Public Information Officer, Office of the President, told Uken Report.

These Family Night events will allow incoming students to learn more about the programs College of the Desert offers at the campus location and on the day that is most convenient for them. Palm Desert Campus will hold its Family Night on Wednesday, Dec. 6 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Indio Campus Family Night will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Attendees will learn about academic and student service programs, financial aid, and more. This is a great opportunity to learn about COD’s EDGE/plEDGE program. EDGE connects students with services that provide a smooth transition into college courses. Through plEDGE, high school graduates within Coachella Valley can enjoy two full years of free tuition and fees by participating in 10 hours of community service, attending a career pathway workshop, dual enrollment and maintaining full-time status for Fall and Spring semesters.

By the end of the evening, we hope you’ll be able to embrace our slogan ‘Your Community. Your college.’”
