Residents Urged to Remain Vigilant Against Jury Duty Scam that Includes Fraudulent Jury Duty Calls and text messages.

RIVERSIDE – The Riverside County Superior Court is warning residents about a reported jury duty scam involving a caller falsely claiming that an individual missed jury service and has an outstanding warrant.

Residents are urged to remain cautious of phone calls or text messages regarding jury service, particularly communications that threaten arrest, claim a warrant has been issued, demand immediate action, or request personal or financial information.

What Residents Should Know

Riverside Superior Court will not call or send text messages threatening residents with arrest or pressuring them to immediately report to a courthouse, provide personal or financial information, or make a payment.

Anyone who receives a suspicious jury-related call or message should:

  • NOT provide personal, financial, or identifying information.
  • NOT make a payment or follow payment instructions from the caller.
  • NOT rely on personal information provided by the caller as proof that the communication is legitimate.
  • NOT click links provided in a suspicious text message or other communication.

  • Report suspicious or threatening communications to the appropriate law enforcement agency.
  • Jurors will not receive text message notifications regarding jury service unless they have opted in to receive them.
