Palm Springs Sets Stage for Season of Parades
PALM SPRINGS — There all types of seasons. Think about it. There is football season, hockey season, baseball season, basketball season and more. In Palm Springs, there is also the Season of Parades.
Mark your calendars for these free and fun special events highlighting the City’s high school football team, diverse LGBTQ community, a powerful and poignant tribute to our veterans – and the ringing in of the holiday season with the spectacular 31st Annual Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade.
Below is a list of the city’s popular and beloved parades coming this fall to Palm Springs.
- Palm Springs Homecoming Parade, Wednesday, Oct. 18, 3:30 p.m. from Baristo to Amado roads in downtown Palm Springs, featuring the Palm Springs High School Indians football team. This year’s theme is “Viva Las Vegas.”
- 37th annual Greater Palm Springs Pride Parade, Sunday, Nov. 5, 10 a.m. along Palm Canyon Drive from Tachevah to Amado Road. Pride Festival runs Nov. 3-5. For more information, visit pspride.org.
- 26th Annual City of Palm Springs Veterans Day Parade, Saturday, Nov. 11, 3:30 p.m. Parade runs along Palm Canyon Drive. This year’s theme is “Honoring All Who Serve.” A patriotic concert and fireworks finale at Palm Canyon Drive and Amado Road will immediately follow the parade. Once again, this year’s Veterans Day Parade will be broadcast live on NBC and KPSE-TV Palm Springs.
For more information, visit psveteransday.com. - 31st Annual Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade, Saturday, Dec. 2. Start time is 5:45 p.m. along Palm Canyon Drive. The City’s signature holiday event features twinkling lights, magnificent marching bands, spectacular floats, huge Macy’s-style holiday floats, and Santa Claus. The parade will once again be broadcast live on NBC and KPSE-TV Palm Springs. Deadline to for parade entries is Sunday, Oct. 15. For more information, visit psfestivaloflights.com.
