My notebook is usually overflowing with tidbits collected throughout the week that make for a great political potpourri of news. This one seemed a bit different from Democrats in the desert. There is a movement afoot and it should not be ignored. The American people are making their voices heard in a variety of ways.

Let’s just say this could be the thunderclap heard around the world.

You have undoubtedly seen Democratic Donor Tom Steyer’s ads calling for the impeachment of Donald J. Trump. Well, he is not stopping there.

The billionaire’s efforts to oust Trump from the White House continue. In a national outreach effort, Steyer is calling on Americans to sign up for a massive “tweet-storm” in support of impeaching Trump.

“Nineteen years ago this Tuesday, Republicans in Congress started impeachment proceedings against President Clinton,” Steyer says in his plea. “Yet today, they refuse to do the same for Donald Trump, a president who has brought us to the brink of nuclear war, obstructed justice, and taken money from foreign governments.”

On Tuesday, Steyer says, we’re going to send Congress a message! By signing up now, we will automatically post your tweet at the same time as everyone else calling out Congress to impeach Trump now — demonstrating the powerful impact of our movement.

Millions of Americans have already signed the petition, according to Steyer. And a new poll shows the majority of Americans now favor impeaching Donald J. Trump.

“Now, Congress must hear us loud and clear that we, the American people, support the impeachment of this dangerous president. There’s no time to waste,” Steyer says.
